Masculinum (Noun declention)

a. Hard consonant at the end of noun's theme
e.g. vo (ox), sto (table), piasok (sand), kaniec (end), brat (brother) etc.

1st group: noun's ending is always stressed

(remember: In Belarusian language, if "o" is not stressed it changes into "a",
e.g. 1st case: vo≥, 2nd case: vaa)
Case singularum pluralum
1. vo≥ sto≥ va≥-y sta≥-y
2. va≥-a sta≥-a va≥-ow sta≥-ow
3. va≥-u sta≥-u va≥-om sta≥-om
4. va≥-a sto≥ va≥-ow sta≥-y
5. va≥-om sta≥-om va≥-ami sta≥-ami
6. val-e stal-e va≥-och sta≥-och
7.     = 1. = 1.

 

2nd group: noun's ending is not stressed.

Case singularum pluralum
1. brat narod brat-y narod-y
2. brat-a narod-u brat-ow narod-aw
3. brat-u narod-u brat-om narod-am
4. = 2.†
5. brat-am narod-am brat-ami narod-ami
6. brac-ie narodz-ie brat-och narod-ach
7. brac-ie / =1. narodz-ie / =1. = 1. = 1.

b. Soft consonant a the end of noun's theme
e.g.: ≥o∂ (elk), ≥okaś (elbow), koŮ (horse)

(remember: If noun describes a living creature (human or animal) then 4th case = 2nd case
else: 4th case = 1st case)

1. ≥o∂ okaś ≥as-i okc-i
2. ≥asi-a okci-a ≥asi-ow okci-aw
3. ≥asi-u okci-u ≥asi-om okci-am
4. = 2. = 1. = 2. = 1.

c. "j" at the noun's end
e.g.: vierabiej (sparrow), abyŤaj (custom, habit), klej (glue)
