My personal preferences are choir and chamber music, folk festivals and celebrations, ballet. Try to attend concert of some folk dance ensemble - it is something that is pretty unusual for capitalist countries and is quickly disappearing in our country too. I don't know of any descent picture galleries back there, but I've heard that some interesting galleries of new art have appeared. Minsk botanical garden is a nice place. Perhaps soccer (football) and hockey matches could be interesting. Our gymnasts are among the best in the world, - you can try to see them.
